B.S. Education: Early Childhood Education  

Four Year (Traditional) Pathway

Students typically begin their university coursework at IUPUI, matriculate through the Pre-Block classes, and then apply to the Teacher Education Program. Some Four-Year students may transfer in some courses but complete most of the four-year program at IUPUI. Students should contact an advisor in the School of Education to discuss these options.

EDUC - M423 Early Childhood Education Student Teaching (14 cr)

Courses must be taken in prescribed, successive blocks. Successful completion (C or higher) of all courses in each block is a prerequisite for the next block and student teaching. Blocks must be completed in sequence from one semester to the next. Courses listed above, plus 6 credit hours toward a Concentration*, must be successfully completed prior to student teaching. 

*Passing scores on pedagogy and content area assessments are required by the State of Indiana in order to receive licensure.

Special Education Dual Licensure

To get certified, you must take the following 18 credit hours in the appropriate sequence. You will also complete (7 Credit Hours) during student teaching to meet the requirements of this licensure program at IUPUI. You will also complete (7 Credit Hours) in ECE General Education student teaching at IUPUI) *student teaching may not be transferred in from another university/college.
