The Urban Teacher Ed Program will prepare you to be a transformative teacher of elementary-aged children. You will join a "cohort", become an "intern", and learn from experienced faculty members who conduct urban education research and collaborate with mentor teachers in local partnership schools.
In this program, you will:
- Practice assessing children's knowledge, planning instruction, and teaching in real classrooms.
- Progress from working with individual children to teaching small groups to managing the entire class.
- Learn to address issues of equity.
- Practice culturally relevant and inclusive teaching.
At the conclusion of the program, you will be fully equipped to teach your own class of diverse students in any urban, suburban, or rural school.
