My research interests are examining ways to improve the rate of success for underrepresented racial minorities in higher education.

Outside of academia, I have an interest in playing the piano, cooking, video games, and fitness.

HIV Status, Partner HIV Status, and Condom Use: Testing the AIDS Risk Reduction Model.

Research Interests

Examining the models of self-regulated learning and school achievement among underrepresented minorities.

Current Projects

Testing the efficiacy of an intervention aimed to enhance middle school knowledge, literacy, and motivation in STEM fields via life science learning experiences and activites.

Enhancing Mentoring Progam with Opportunities for Ways to Excel in Research (EMPOWER):
An evaluation of college faculty who are historically underrepresented to better understand the impact of mentorships and arears of emprovement.

Testing the efficacy of an intervention aimed to enhance the capacity of 9th graders to engage in English Language Arts analysis and interpretation
