Henry earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Arts in English and Literature from Sheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal, in 2001. He also obtained a Master of Education from IUPUI where he is currently pursuing a PhD degree in Education focusing on Urban Studies.

After his graduate studies in Senegal, Mr. Hane won a scholarship to the United States as an Exchange Scholar through an exchange program between Sheikh Anta Diop University and Beloit College (Beloit, Wisconsin). He then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin after his program to work as a middle school French teacher at Marva Collins Preparatory charter school. Mr. Hane then elected Indianapolis as his new home where he taught Life Health, English Language Arts, and Reading at MTI School of Knowledge for several years.

Henry is currently the Principal of the Universal School of Plainfield. Henry also serves as the Vice-President of the Indianapolis Muslim Community Association, which built the first mosque in Indianapolis and the first Islamic school in the state of Indiana.

Research Interests

My research interests include equity and students who have to navigate being a member of multiple marginalized groups.
