The Introduction

 

Do you think worms are creepy?  Did you know that worms can be our friends?  Follow through this web quest and find out all that worms do for you.  After you learn 5 facts about worms, you will be a "worm expert."  All of our worm experts will work together to build a worm bin for our class.

 

 

The Task

 

Your job is to collect worm facts on your fact sheet.  You will work with a partner.  You must show your worm fact sheet to your teacher before we can build the worm bin.

Look

Look at the pictures of two worms.  

 

Learn

Learn some worm facts.  

Answers questions about worms.

Have some fun

Read a book about worms from our collection.

Look at the worm fun page and complete the word puzzle.

 

 

The Process

Print out your copy of the worm fact sheet by clicking here.  Answer the questions in the Web Quest on your fact sheet.

 

 

Step 1:  Look at the two pictures below.   Write down two describing words about worms on your worm fact sheet.

Step 2:  Look at the picture of the worm body parts.  Copy the names of the body parts onto your worm fact sheet.

 

 

Step 3:  Worm facts

Look at your worm fact sheet and answer True or False to the questions in part 3 after reading the worms facts on this Internet page.

 

Step 4:  Choose one of the books about worms from our collection and read it with your partner.  You should both read one book.

The Evaluation

The Conclusion

 

Now the fun begins.  You are ready to build the worm bin.  We will work on this project together as a class.  Do you still think that worms are creepy?  Well, they are squirmy,  but worms can be a big help to all of us in our gardens or in the big world around us.
