Expedition to Countries of the World

We are going to research the

many countries of our world to find

the differences and the similarities among them.  


Task

You are assigned to investigate a country listed in the table.

Use Netscape Editor to make a web page about your country.

  • Use the links to research the following topics relating to the country.
  • Note some interesting facts about the country.
  • Learn some expressions in the language of the country.
  • Copy some pictures from the country to your disk (remember to copy the URL).

For Use With All Countries

The Process

1. Netscape Editor-- File -- New Document-- Blank..

2. Set the document colors by going to Properties-- Document.

3. Put the name of your country as the title of the web page.  

4. Save your page by going to file -- Save As. Change to the "a" drive. Name your page and save with the extension of .html.

5. Use the links below to find information about your country.

6. Save graphics to the "a" drive. Import the graphics from your disk to the page, by clicking on Insert -- Image -- Browse for graphic file.  

7. Add facts about your country to the page.

8. To set links, copy the URL to the clipboard by highlighting the URL and pressing Ctrl -- C on the keyboard. Go to your page in the Editor, highlight the text, and click on Insert -- Link. Paste the URL by pressing Ctrl -- V.

9. At the bottom of your page you must give credit to the sites used to create your page. Use the bottom of this page as a guide. 

10. Go to File -- Save often!!!

11. For a background file for your page, download one at http://www.backgroundcity.com/

                    Look at your web page to see if you need to make any changes.
