INTRODUCTION

Are you looking for a place that provides all of the modern attractions you're accustomed to, yet still conveys that small town charm?  Hendricks County, directly west of Indianapolis,  has all your looking for and more!

 

TASK

You and your partner have been hired by the Hendricks County Commissioner to lure more visitors and/or new residents to Hendricks County.  You may choose your means of relaying your information by:

  •     Powerpoint Presentation
  •     Video yourself in a commercial
  •     Present a Travel Brochure prepared in Publisher

 

PROCESS

Together with your partner, you will collect information through in internet, your local library, and the yellow pages. 

After all your information is collected, choose which method of presentation you will use to present.  Within your presentation, you will need to include all of the following points:

  • Map of the County
  • Major Cities or Towns
  • School Corporations
  • Parks & Recreation Areas
  • Major Industry
  • Historical Write up 

EVALUATION

You will be evaluated on the following:

  • Your level of cooperation and participation within your group
  • The quality of information gathered from your research
  • The use of all major points that were to be included in your presentation
  • The layout of your presentation, including neatness, grammar, spelling 

 Your teacher will use a Rubric to grade your project.

You will use a Rubric to evaluate yourself.

 

CONCLUSION

Congratulations on becoming experts of your community.  Through working on this webquest you not only gained a lot of useful information but also worked cooperatively with your peers.  Go forth and spread the news that Hendricks County is a great place to live and visit.
