HEIDELBERG CASTLE

We are about to take a trip across the Atlantic Ocean to Germany, a country on the continent of Europe. We need to gather a few things from the Internet, and we need to learn a few things, too, so keep track of what you discover in your TRIP PLANNER.

   YOUR TASKS

·         Find a map of Europe. Now find Germany. Label Germany on the map in your Trip Planner. Now we know where we are going!

·         Find the flag of Germany. Draw it under your map. Color it the correct colors.

·         Learn to say something in German. After you practice it, say it to 3 people sometime today. Ask each person to sign your Trip Planner.

·         Read a short German folktale or fairy tale. We can print a copy so that you can take it with you. In your Trip Planner, draw a picture of something that happens in your story. Write the title of the story under your picture.

·         What kind of money do Germans use? How much are these amounts worth in American money?

GERMAN MONEY

AMERICAN MONEY

1

       =  $  ?

2

       =  $  ?

5

             100

·         Pick a city in Germany. Find one or more pictures of that city and enjoy your tour of that city. In your Trip Planner, write down the city that you visited and write the address (found at the top of the page in the Location Bar) so that your friends can visit there, too if they would like.
