Our town is getting ready to open a zoo and the zookeeper needs your help choosing which animals would be the best. The zookeeper needs your help finding information on how to care for the animals.

First, you will choose a zoo animal to research and find information about it pertaining to the questions below.  Then, write a paragraph about the animal using the information you found.  Next, using Kid Pix draw a picture of your animal.  Finally, combine your picture and paragraph together using Kid Pix.  You will present your completed project to the class and zookeeper.  Have Fun!!

·         St. Louis Zoo

·         Using the resources above select one zoo animal.

·         Answer the following questions about your animal:

                    1.   What does the animal eat?

                    2.   Describe the animal’s habitat.

                    3.   How does the animal protect itself?

                    4.   Find the common and scientific name of the animal.

                    5.   Find descriptive details or pictures of the animal.

·         From the descriptive details you find, draw a picture of your animal in Kid Pix as accurately as possible.  Be creative!!

·         Take the information you found about your animal and write at least a ten-sentence paragraph in Kid Pix.  Be sure to include your Kid Pix drawing. 

·         Using Kid Pix, present the information to the class and the guest zookeeper.

Congratulations!!  You have successfully helped the zookeeper find important information about many different zoo animals.  Thanks to your help the zoo will be open in no time with the animals you selected.
