Your design team (group of
3 or 4) will need to come up with a plan to help your client decide where to
build. He has picked four areas of the
Since your client is retiring you will need to take cost of living, real estate cost, seasonal weather, and building cost into account as you come up with your decisions. Your client plans to spend $500,000.00 on the property and construction of the home together.
Your team will need to come up with a presentation to the class either oral or computer presentation using power point. In the first part of the presentation you should have a description of each site you have chosen from the four areas, analysis of the cost of living for the areas, and real estate prices. To finish the first part of the presentation you should explain the seasonal weather for the area and the types of recreation available during the seasons. For the second part of your presentation you will present the area you have chosen for your client to build upon and why this is the best place for him to live, and present your home design.
To begin, your design team will need to meet and layout guidelines for each team member and their task that will need to be accomplished. The following are guidelines for each team to follow, but are not limited to.

Motivational effectiveness of introduction 3 Point Total
3 Organizes the material so that each phase of the project will be covered
and strongly supported.
2 Most of the material is understood however appears to leave out.
1 Has little or no idea about organizing what resources they have found and

3 Presentation flows smoothly with strong support that creates a feeling

Each team will present their presentation on their research and problem solving activity. The class will then have a discussion over the presentations and which team proved to have the best presentation and why. Next the class will discuss what they would have changed on the team layout and what they would have done differently on their presentation. To conclude on what you have learned what could be done to make this project better.
