  1. The Curriculum Resource Center (CRC): has continued to grow and develop into an essential component of the teacher education program in the School of Education. It is much more than a collection of books, it is the supporting centerpiece for the academic program of the School. Direct support of the program is provided through a vast collection of K-12 textbooks and materials utilized daily by over 143 sections of education courses, 1200 students and over 80 full and part-time faculty. Materials are taken into the classrooms and entire classes visit the CRC to utilize and evaluate these resources. The CRC supports the technology activities of the students with a variety of media materials and equipment and also provides the resources so that students can create and develop their own learning materials. The Center receives thousands of dollars in free books and materials by serving as a textbook adoption review site for the state. The CRC houses the Teachers' Resource Center for Math and Science.

  2. The Urban Center for the Advancement of STEM Education (UCASE): is a joint effort among the School of Science, School of Education, and School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI. Through a combination of program development, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education research, and graduate and undergraduate scholarships, UCASE fosters the goals of increasing the numbers of highly qualified K-12 STEM teachers, and expanding knowledge of teaching and learning. UCASE was founded in 2006 through IUPUI's Commitment to Excellence (CTE) Funds.

  3. The Center for Urban and Multicultural Education (CUME): was shaped in 1979. It was created to provide the School of Education (SOE) at Indiana University with a voice in the nation´s long-standing debate about the role and function of public education in our cities, where schools serve most of our poor and cultural minorities. CUME began by serving as a kind of clearinghouse for knowledge diffusion and professional training. The center functioned to distribute information through conferences, seminars, and symposia, on such topics as the condition of urban and multicultural education in the nation, sex and racial discrimination in schools-university cooperation, and student discipline.

  4. The Office of Professional Development: is a gateway to the professional learning community at IUPUI interested in urban and innovative approaches to education. This portal is a place to look for new possibilities for professional development and effective teaching and learning practices for K-16 students. We invite your suggestions and questions as you consider how IUPUI might be a partner in your professional growth.

  5. The Teacher’s Resource Center for Math & Science Education (TRC): is a not-for-profit program designed to engage and educate young people in math and science through guided inquiry. TRC manages the circulation of hands-on math and science kits which are correlated with Indiana’s Academic Standards. TRC provides everything (teacher’s lesson plan, worksheets, supplies, and materials) that educators or youth development advocates need to present meaningful activities in their classrooms or youth programs, and also offers professional development workshops to the educators and youth development advocates on these kits. Kits are made available for use, free of charge, to all educators and youth advocates employed in both the (11) public school systems and community youth organizations of Marion County.
