IUPUI Urban Principal Program


Application Details

1. Transcripts

Official transcripts for all graduate and undergraduate work taken outside the Indiana University system. Transcript(s) should be mailed to:

2. GRE Test Scores

If you are applying for admission into the Urban Principal Certification Program, you do not have to take the GRE. If you have an undergraduate grade point average less than 3.2 and you are applying for admission to the Urban Principal Master´s Program, you will need to take the Graduate Record Examination.

3. Letter of endorsement signed by Superintendent or designee

This letter of endorsement must include a description of your interest in the program and must be signed by the superintendent or designee of school district where you are employed.

4. Nomination/Reference Letters

Nomination/Reference letters from two school administrators who are familiar with your work and leadership skills. The letters should specifically address your leadership experiences thus far and your potential for leadership success in the principalship. Nomination/Reference letters may be submitted online through the application system or can be mailed to the graduate adviser at the address in #1 above. If those writing reference letters prefer to submit them through the online application system, email addresses will need to be included in the online application.

5. Name of Mentor

Please submit the name of a current administrator in your school or cohort school district who is willing to serve as a mentor during this program.
