All hours earned in the Certificate Program can be applied to the IUPUI Master’s Degree in Education. The Graduate Certificate Program is an interdisciplinary and collaborative offering provided by faculty from several different IUPUI schools. It is an inquiry-based, 18-credit professional development opportunity designed for professionals who are seeking a stronger understanding of the diverse educational needs of urban youth and how to address those needs. The program is a highly interactive and reflective experience where participants are mentored by practitioners representing a variety of professions. Mentor and peer interactions are designed to nurture collaborations and enhance understandings about community and urban school issues. The 18-Hour Graduate Certificate Program is project based and
explores how community and school connections are strengthened through
the building of civic capacity. The program is designed to be completed
within one calendar year and meets the specific needs of those intending
to pursue leadership positions beyond the entry level. |
