Graduate Academic Programs License Renewal Teachers who have a current Indiana teaching license must renew their license every five years by taking 6 credit hours of college coursework. Teachers who want to take courses that will count toward their license renewal have many options at Indiana University School of Education at IUPUI. Teachers who are interested in making their 6 credit hours part of a masters' degree must apply and be accepted to the masters' degree program of their choice.
