The PBL Institute models project-based learning for teachers just as it should be implemented with students. At the outset of the event, participants receive an entry document and learn the vocabulary of PBL. Educators have the opportunity to see and critique successful projects. In small groups, facilitators guide participants through the PBL process as they create projects for their classrooms. Throughout the event, participants can choose to attend workshops and mini-lessons to increase their PBL skills. Workshops cover topics like differentiation, technology, and integrating state academic standards. Media specialists staff the library to provide additional support through research and idea generation. At the conclusion of the event, participants present their projects to other educators to gain authentic feedback. Why should I attend? The PBL Institute is a one-of-a-kind, don’t miss event. The Institute uniquely offers educators a 360 degree view of project-based learning—as teachers participants walk away with a project prepared perfectly for their classroom, but as students they engage in the PBL process and learn from master facilitators modeling PBL implementation. For additional information or if you have questions, email: Linda Soblanski Professional Development Hours and Indiana University Credit Each participant will be issued a certificate for 16 hours of professional development (16 PGPs) upon completion of the Institute. With school district approval, these certificates can apply towards a teacher's license renewal. Additionally, participants can earn three graduate credits through participating in the Institute and an online course through IUPUI in the fall semester. Information pertaining to registration and tuition fees will be included in registration materials at the Institute.
