Readings for Beginners (Required)
Get ready for the first day of the Institute by reading the article in BIE_PBL Intro (PDF).   Mark at least two passages that excite, confuse, irritate, inspire, and/or challenge you.  Be ready to discuss the article at the Institute.
 
Other Recommended Reading  (not required)

Handbook
Participants will be using The Project-based Learning Handbook authored by Markham et al. of The Buck Institute of Education.   Bring your own or purchase a handbook at the Institute for $35.

Indiana University Credit (PDF)
Participants can earn 1 credit from Indiana University for attending the workshop (EDUC W505 / 13613 --approximately $304—pass/fail) or 3 credits (EDUC L530 / 13600 approximately $915--letter graded) for attending the workshop, participating on-line in a forum with other workshop participants, and documenting the use of project-based learning in their classrooms. 

CRUs and PGEs (PDF)
Participants can get certificates to document Continuing Renewal Credits (CRUs are available to individuals who hold masters degrees) or Personal Growth Points. 

Registration for credit, CRUs or PGE will take place at the institute.
